I would like to password protect "my document" file to prevent anyone from
having access to them. The individual files were not "protected" with a
password when they were written.

Anyone know a way to protect the entire MY DOCUMENT?
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob-

The first place to go ( 2002 or 2003) is Tools>Options--Security. There you
can set a pw to open and/or pw to modify. Just keep in mind that any
file-level pw protection is more of a deterrent than a serious security
measure.

You might also want to look into Tools>Protection as an additional option.

This is a Windows-level function, not something you can do within Word. Try
asking in a Windows NG.
