The keyboard shortcuts are very simple: type Ctrl and the closest-
looking character on the keyboard, then the letter you want the accent
on: Ctrl-' (apostrophe) for acute, Ctrl-` for grave, Ctrl-Shift-^ for
circumflex, Ctrl-Shift-~ for tilde, Ctrl-Shift-: for dieresis, Ctrl-,
(comma) for cedilla, Ctrl-Shift-& then o for oe.

How interesting, thanks, I'll try that. I usually go to the character map.

The actual Character Map in Windows? Instead of that, it's easier to
use Insert Symbol within Word. (You can also assign your own keyboard
shortcuts when you're in Insert Symbol.)
