How do I put a vertical line through <?

I need to put a vertical line through < and I haven't the faintest, can you
help.

You can do it with an overstrike (EQ \o) field (see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Overbar.htm), but if you have the Arial
Unicode MS font installed, you can use the single character 226E (in the
Mathematical Operators character subset).
