how do i put a counter on the home page ONLY when themes are used.

I have added a hit counter to my home page but unfortunately it shows on all
pages, which means it also counts every click within the site and not just
the initial visit. I know that this is because the counter is placed within a
frame/theme but I can not figure out how to place the counter outside of the
frame or how to change my pages so that this doesn't happen.
please help!

Leila:

Try putting your cursor right after the end of the text on your home page,
or otherwise ensure your insertion point isn't in a shared border. Insert
your counter there.

I am unable to put my cursor anywhere outside of the frames. is there a way
to do this?

please post the URL so we can see what you're talking about.
Other solution: don't use framesets - they can be a pain - as it seems
you've discovered.

the counter is in one of your shared borders more likely, and therefore will
show up on each page using the borders.

Try putting the counter on the page you want outside of the shared border.
