How do I protect just part of a User Fill in Document?

I created a document with text fields and one date picker. An protected it
by specifying filling in the text fields.
In the middle of the form I need to have an area where users can
paste text and .jpgs into it and then continue filling in the text fields
using the tab key.
I grouped all the text before and after this "Open" area.
I tried using section breaks but it just blew away the protection.

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi gtc,

You do, indeed, use Section breaks to delineate the portions with the formfields from the portions where you want the users to
insert their text & images. If that's in the middle of the document, then you need two Section breaks - one either side of the 'free
entry' portion. Then you re-enable the forms protection, leaving the Section containing the 'free entry' portion unprotected.

used section breaks but kept losing my protection.
I inserted a single table cell and specified text wrapping and am
now able to paste in text of any length.

Hi gtc,

It's not clear from your post whether you regard the issue as solved or whether you're still having trouble with the protection.
Perhaps you could clarify.
