I must have changed a setting that I cannot reverse:

My first set of handouts I printed were plain text -- now the settings are
such that they print the slides (either in colour or black n white). How do
I change settings so the handouts come out as expected? I checked in bothe
Master view and Print preview

To get 3 boxes with lines, use File|Print and in the "print what" box,
choose Handouts. Then choose 3/page.

Is that what you wanted?

If not, can you please clarify what it is you do want to print out? I can't
tell exactly what it is you want to happen, so I can't tell you how to get
there!

Thanks for the reply. i am fine with the instructions you mention -- but
that is not the real issue for me --

When I view the 'handout view', they show the 3 slides with lines (space
for notes) as I see them in slide view (either on colour or b&w depending on
the colour option selected).

However, in the past when i view the handouts, they showed as a plainer text
-- no colours in bkgrd, or formatted text. I want a plain text option. Can
you help?

Let me know if you need more info :)

Hm. I can't think of anything that would give you unformatted text in a
print preview. Hopefully someone else will have some ideas.

I think I solved it -- I changed settings under Format > Background and
selected option so the background does not print -- thus it looks more like a
"plain text" handout.

In the print dialog box, try choosing Pure B/W rather than Grayscale or Color.
