How do I prevent Outlook from deleting messages?

I like to retain all old email for future reference. Suddenly, on one
computer only, Outlook is only retaining deleted items for a couple of days.
Cannot find any settings that are causing this and have used Outlook for many
years.

computer only, Outlook is only retaining deleted items for a couple
of days. Cannot find any settings that are causing this and have used
Outlook for many years.

Are you sure they're deleted? No view filters set on your inbox? Look in the
lower-left-hand corner of Outlook and check for "filter applied".
If that isn't it, check for rules & autoarchive settings. Outlook doesn't
delete or hide anything unless you tell it to.

NB: Always include your version/mode/SP level of Outlook (from Help |
About), what kind of mail account(s) you use, and any other pertinent
details.
