Greetings,

I'm trying to get the 'windows explorer' tab to appear
when I navigate through the 'start' button. It's not
there under |programs|accessories|. Since I have
the 'windows explorer' icon folder (shortcut) on my
desktop, perhaps I can just paste it doing this:

|%user profile|start menu|programs|accessories|.

The problem is that I don't know how to actually do that.
Please, forgive my ignorance and thanks for the help.

Right click on your start button, go to explore (or explore all users). In
the folder you see open, right-click, new, shortcut, explorer.exe and name
it whatever you like.

After I right click on the start button and hit the
explorer tab, I don't get a tab that says new, or
shortcut, or explorer.exe. These steps aren't an option.
I'll keep trying to get the explorer tab back to my |start
button|Programs|Accessories location. For now I'll just
have to use the Icon on my desktop. Thanks for the help.

alot of times i do that and leave it on the start button so it's at the top
of the drop down wneever you click start.
you can go to any program you use the start button for and right mouse it
and send one to teh ( "the" i do this all the time, think it's a right brain
thing) desktop, then slide it onto the start button.
delete them whenever you want, if they are shortcuts.(not a blank rule for
every shortcut; depends on how it was generated adn (here too) what the
properties)
do it with all sorts of programs like notetab lite i use for my notepad
(much better)

does that all make sense? i ramble

Right click on Start
Choose Explore

In the subsequent Explorer window that opens up, you'll see the contents of
your start menu. You can right-click in there (on the right-hand side) and
do what I suggested.

I was able to do it! Thanks to the information I received
from both of you, I can now use the taskbar to quickly get
to explorer rather than minimize all the way down to the
desktop. I truly appreciate your help. Thanks!
