How do I open the archive.pst file to retreive deleted contacts

I have an ipaq pocket pc that i used to sync my contacts between my desk top
computer using Outlook. I deleted the contacts from my desk top, then tried
to reinstall them by sync'ing them from my pocket pc. They were deleted from
my pocket pc. I have looked in the recycle bin, they have been deleted from
there also. Can i retrieve them from the archive.pst file, I do not know how
to open the file to see if the contacts are still there. Any help out there?

Contacts aren't usually archived. But to open the archive.pst you can just
go to File, Open, Outlook data file. Then browse to the location of
archive.pst.

Is there any chance of recovering the contacts that I had in my Compaq pocket
pc, or are they lost forever.

Don't you make regular backups of your PocketPC?
