How do I open CAD documents attached to emails

I am new to receiving CAD attachments with my emails.
I cannot open the CAD documents and am having major problem installing
software to do so when asked to download.
Any suggestions?

You need to install whatever application was used to create the attachments
in the first place.

You can download free .dwg and .dwf readers from AutoDesk that will
allow you to open drawings (assuming they're AutoCAD).
