how do i onlock my modifications

im trying to use my word document it wont let me it is saying that it is
locked what do i do??????
 
Have you tried activating Word? Help > Activate application...

Is it a trial version that has expired?

Version of Word?

How is the document locked? What does it keep you from doing?
