Hi
Assuming that both computer can access the Internet.
You have to configure the File Sharing to on both computers.
This page has links to places to would help in both Win98SE and WinXP.

Hi....I read these treads, but I'm not sure it answers my particular question.
I have an old clunker PC w/ win98se that I would like to hook up via LAN
cable to DSL. Additionally, I plan to tap into the gateway to pull a wireless
signal for my new laptop that runs XP sp-2. Question: can these two computers
be home networked together to share files and share the printer that's hooked
up to the old clunker running 98se? Also, does a minimum processor speed come
into play here?

Many thanks,
Mary

Yes. Win98 can network just fine with other MS operating systems. Read
Jack's responses to the OP.

Also, does a minimum processor speed come
into play here?

No.
