how do I move personal folders in view pane

I have three exchange email boxes in my viewing pane (two are shared mail
boxes). Because I need to keep a large volume of my email I want to move "my
folders" which is a subfolder of my main mailbox into a locally stored PST
file.
However I need for the folder (and its 40 odd subfolders) to appear
immediately after my main mailbox, above the other two mailboxes that I have
to monitor. However outlook 2007 will not let me drag the "personal folders"
above any of the other mail boxes. Since all the folders in my personal
folders relate only to my main mailbox I want to keep the grouped with it.
Does anyone know a hack that will let me do this

Use Favorite Folders, then you can put them in any order you like...

I tried that but "personal folders" has 36 sub directories and one of the
subs has another 30 directories. When I just copy personal folders into
favorites it only shows the top level - I need the ability to open an close
the tree as I need it - I dont want the entire list of nearly 70 directories
showing all the time in my favorites.

The problem is that the other two mailboxes also have directory trees, one
of which I like to keep open - if I do then my personal folders are off the
screen

The only way to control the order in the folder list is by changing the name
of the pst so it falls ahead of the mailboxes - and this trick may not work
in all versions of outlook.

You'll have to live with it or change your filing system so you don't use so
many folders.

Thank you so much for the informative reply - I changed it from "my folders"
to just "folders" and it did exactly what I wanted - placing it after my in
box but before the other two mailboxes!
