How do I move Outlook 2003 to a new computer?

Hi,

I have been using Outlook 2003 for a while on an old
computer. I just bought a new computer and am having a
hard time moving all my email accounts, rules, Data
Files, etc. to the new computer. There are over 500
email accounts so I really prefer a way to import some
file to the new Outlook 2003 and not have to add them all
one by one.

I think I know of a way to export and import the email
rules.

I tried simply copying all the old Data Files to the new
Outlook 2003 installation folder: C:\Documents and
Settings\MyName\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ but I only got two personal
folders now and can´t delete one. The rest of the Data
Files were not shown inside outlook.

So, to resume, I want to have the exact same Outlook
configuration, email addresses, rules, folders, etc. on
the new computer as how I have it on my old computer.

Any Ideas? Can someone help me with some instructions or
an URL where I can find this information?

Thanks!

Checo

There's no easy way to do that. You can use the Save My Settings Wizard (in
the Microsoft Office Tools folder on your Programs Menu, to create a file that
contains many of your settings and you can apply it to your new machine. It
will not transfer the passwords for the accounts though.

You should not be exporting/importing anything. Once you transfer all your
settings, copy the *.PST file(s) to your new machine (you can use the PF
Backup Utility for that). You can actually put the PSTs anywhere that is
convenient to you as long as you tell Outlook where they are. There are
several ways to do that but none is as straightforward as we might like.

Open Outlook and click File|Open |Outlook Data File then navigate to your old
PST and select it. Once you have you old file attached, click Tools|Email
Accounts|View Change existing accounts and change the mail delivery location
at the bottom of that panel.
but I only got two personal
folders now and can´t delete one.
Click the "folder List" icon in Navigation Pane to see all the folders
associated with the profile. To get rid of a folder set, right-click on the
top level of the folder tree and select "Close".
The rest of the Data
Files were not shown inside outlook.
How many data files did you have? If you use the PF Backup Utility to backup
your PST, you should get all the PSTs attached to the profile.

If you want to use your old file as your default mail folder, click
Tools|Email Accounts | View or change existing email accounts then scroll down
to change the delivery location.

Your mail rules will be in your old folder so they will travel with the mail.
