How do I mirror my hard drive onto external drive?

Not that I've added new hard drive, re-loaded all my
software and data, I want to make a "mirror" copy to
memorialize the drive working right (virus and spam-ware
free for the moment).

I have a large external hard drive, and don't want to
just "copy" files. Instead, I want an exact duplicate so
that the system files copy over as well. This way, I can
instantly restore the whole drive in emergencies.

Do I need to boot in safe mode and use DOS commands???

You'll need a third-party imaging program,
such as Norton Ghost:
