How do I migrate from NT4 WINS to W2k WINS

V

Running NT4 domain with WINS setup. All servers and mixed
clients point to NT4 WINS. Have new W2k domain in place
with WINS running. I want to point clients and servers
from the NT4 domain to the new W2k WINS servers. How do I
do this without any interuption in service? Can this be
done gradually?

Is it possible to setup replication between NT4 WINS and
W2k WINS?

Hi,

The easist way is to set up Wins replication between the NT Wins server and
the Win2K Wins server (yes it can easily be done). Then change your DHCP
scope option 44 (Wins Server) to point the clients to the new Wins server.
make sure to change any statically configured machines too. Once the
clients are all using the new Wins server you can take down the old NT Wins
server.

I was hoping you would say that. Had problems finding
documentation that talked about this.

I'll set it up. Thanks
