How do I mark multiple calendar items private?

Prior to sharing calendars that have been running privately for some time I
wish to bulk-mark items (750) private.
Can this be done via a multiple selection in category view or some other
means?

Thanks Diane,

Slightly complex but works a treat. I note that the 'Private' option is
available by right click on a single selected item but not on a multiple
selection. This could be useful for a future release

Use a group by view - group by the private field and drag the items to the
Private: Yes group.

Great solution, worked well for me once I managed to locate the 'private'
field (why is it in documents?!).

Is there any way to automaticallly mark anything I put in in to my 'persnal'
category as private

Private should be under Mail too - but it’s the same field the other items
use too, so it doesn't matter where it came from.

If you set the category using rules you can mark private (using a script)
but not if you apply the category after mail arrives.
