Microsoft Outlook 2003
when i create a user defined column in outlook tasks i'm not able to write
into it. it lets me name the column heading and format the column but won't
let me write into it. thanks

Go to View | Arrange By | Current View | Customize Current View, click the
Other Settings button, and make sure "Allow in-cell editing" is checked.

"Allow in-cell editing" was already checked. I can't write into most of the
pre-defined columns either. There are only a few that will let me write into
them. I can't see any pattern or reason. Thanks.

Have you tried creating a new view and adding your custom fields to that
view, then typing in-cell? It works for me in Outlook 2003. Are these text
fields or some other kind of field?
