How do I make text appear and disappear fron the screen?

I can't figure out how to make text appear on the screen long enogh for
somene to read then leave the screen and have the next text appear. I'm
trying to do 3 or 4 minutes of text on one screen. Show I be using individual
screens for each transition?

Northern pike,
You are working with individual text boxes?
Should not be that difficult. Just apply an entrance effect to first text.
Second apply an exit effect to the same text, format it to start after
previous, double click it and on the timing tab apply the delay you want.
Then apply an entrance effect to the following text formatted as after
previous. Then repeat the sequence as many times as necessary.
