How do I make outlook faster it gives an error while snd & recv?

My MS outlook 2003 is very slow and when I click on send and receive it gives
an error if I closed the outlook and open it again then it works fine again
after 15-20 minutes it doesn't work properly.

What is your email environment - POP3, Exchange, etc. ? Have you done any
troubleshooting? What does the error say?

my outlook environment is pop3
yes I had gone through the troubleshooted these steps
1. disabling & enabling lan
2. restart outlook 2003

i want to know that I delete any cookies or not because our most of the is
