how do I make my x axis my y axis

Sorry, brand new to this. I have four numbers in my A colum, and 4 in my b. When I Make a chart, it automatically put the wrong one as x. I have tried putting them in the other colum, but it is still the same. Example A: 6.91, 6.05, 5.09, 4.5, B:706.5, 667.8, 501.6, 468.6. It shows 1 to 800 as y. I need them to be x. Please help. Homework due tomorrow.

Put the X values in column A, and the Y values in column B.
Select all the eight cells, and click the Chart Wizard button
Select the XY Scatter chart, and one of the subtypes.
Go through the steps to the end of the wizard.
