We have a client that is placing a pc as an internet kiosk for customers to
use at random. The problem I am running into is how to make Internet Explorer
the only executable program. We want it to run in a mode simlar to kiosk mode
(ex. iexplore -k www.google.com) but that mode does not show the address bar
and/or the buttons. Plus in kiosk mode you have the ability (with simple
windows knowledge) to navigate out of the IE window and to the desktop...we
dont want that to happen.
Is there a way to have IE be the only program that is executeable, and is
automatically ran upon logon. We will have a general guest account, with
everything locked out via administrative permisions. But we want IE to be on
the screen upon logon, and it can not be closed, and will not open new pages
in another window (keep in the single kiosk-like window)...and you cannot use
alt-tab to navigate....and you cannot access the start menu. Pretty much a
lockdown of kiosk mode, with a little more end user functionality.
Please help us out on this one. Thank you.
