How Do I Make Folder Sort In Order of Date on Last File Added?

I have a folder with about 30 subfolders. It is sorted in inverse
date modified order. For a couple of years, when I added a new file
to one of the folders that folder changed positions -- came to the top
of the folder list. A couple of months ago they stopped doing this.
Now they stay in the date created order and thus don't move.

How do I get them to go back to rearranging based on latest file
added?

You can sort a folder view in any order you want by clicking on the header
of the field you want to sort by., Click it a second time to reverse the
sort (ascending or descending).

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I understand that. It's what I meant when I said the folder "
is sorted in inverse date modified order."

But, the folders within this folder used to be sorted by the date of
the latest file added to them. Now they sort in order of the folder
dates themselves.

In Windows Explorer select View, Choose Details. You can add a Date
Created column and sort on that.

Hope this helps.

At least on my system (XP SP2 all updates), the date modified of a folder
changes if you add or delete a file from it, not if you modify a file that
is already in it.

Are you sure I want to sort on date created? I'm currently sorting on
Date Modified, thinking that when I add a file I am modifying the
folder. It would seem like sorting on Date Created would cause it to
use the folder date. That's what it's doing now.
