How do I log in as Administrator

R

ralph.k.nitta

I just got a Dell 2400 with XP family edition. I
remember creating an Administrator account and one
account for each member of my family. At start up my
family members' accounts appear but not the
Administrator's account. How do I log in as
Administrator?

How can I tell if I'm logged in as Administrator?

How can I change the Administrator from me to someone
else?

Please help me with this problem.

Thanks, everyone.

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts. It should say whether each account is
an Administrator or not. From here you also can change whether each user
logs in as the administrator, but only an administrator can do this.

OnXP Home, then the built in Administrator account does not appear on the
logon screen unless you start in Safe Mode. Also, I guess by default each
new user is probably an administrator.

Once you have created regular user accounts, the default Administrator
account vanishes from the Welcome screen, which you see when the computer
starts up. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice at the Welcome screen to retrieve the
standard logon dialog. You can log on as Administrator from there.

Enable Administrator account on Welcome Screen
