How do I limit cut and paste in plain text in MSW?

I use MS Word (2007) to edit my news posts. Is there a way to make sure that
the text I paste from word into Outlook Express is text only format?
 
In Outlook Express, on the Send tab of Tools | Options, did you choose "Plain
Text" for "News Sending Format"? Any formatting should be cleared if you save
as a draft and then re-open the message.
