How do I know which Processes I need??

I seem to have SO many processes running on my computer - Task Manager - how
do I know whcih ones are integral to the operation of my PC and whcich are
junk?? Please email me info or links to help. THANKS!!

First of all never post your real email on a newsgroup site. There are
programs that "crackers" (bad hackers) use to send spam and spyware to emails
they find in newsgroups. Are you running an Anti-Virus program? Exactly how
many processes do you show running? If you have an AV application, try
downloading the latest virus definitions then running a full system scan.
This will rid of any processes that are running that could be used with
virus'. Then download & install Microsoft AntiSpyware. Run a full scan and
this will rid of any processes that are used with any spyware/adware. Inside
Microsft AntiSpyware click on the Advanced Tools icon, then the System
Explorers icon, on the left side click Running processes. This shows all the
running processes that are running at the time and explains where they are
from, what they may be used for, and if the are a known process or not.
