How do I know a message was recalled?

Someone notified me and asked "Why did I recall the message sent". Why do
they know this? How do I know "for sure" that a message was recalled.
Thanks.

Because the recall process is really lame, that's why. :) When you attempt
to recall a message, the recipient actually has to approve the recall before
it is successful. They can actually refuse to let you recall it, and either
way, they get to read it before they make a decision...so there's really no
point if you sent something that you shouldn't have and are trying to cover
your tracks. It's also buggy and sometimes doesn't work at all.

I just realized I didn't fully answer your question. You *should* get a
notice whether the recall was successful or it failed...but that's IF the
sender answers the question when asked if they want to allow the recall (I
don't use Exchange Server so I'm not sure if they are forced to answer it or
not).
