Message Recall - Strikethrough

J

Jarryd

Hi,

I have a user who received a message recal notification from a user outside
of our organisation which was followed by a copy of the message with
strikethrough values for all fields of the message in the contents pane (the
pane that is not the navigation/task/reading pane). Does anyone know how to
do that. It might not be an Exchange feature, but I can see that the
message was recalled. I know that you can only recall messages sent to
mailboxes within your organisation (provided they haven't been read), but
user wanted to recall the message and replace it with another and have a
copy sent with the strikethroughs for field values to the recipient.

Is this possible.

TIA,

Jarryd

Outlook's recall feature doesn't work on external mail well, if at all, but
it will try. I sent myself this message at an external address:

From: (e-mail address removed) "Tillman, Brian"
To: (e-mail address removed)
CC:
Subj: Testing Recall

I'll recall this message

I then sent a recall and got the follwing:

From: (e-mail address removed) "Tillman, Brian"
To: (e-mail address removed)
CC:
Subj: Recall: Testing Recall

Tillman, Brian would like to recall the message, "Testing Recall".

Now, if the mail agent whete I received these messages knew that this second
message was to recall the first, it would. Mail services like Yahoo and
Gmail don't honor the recalls and Outlook using those services as mailboxes
won't honor the recalls either. I tried it.
