How do I kill a Highlite bar?

In office word for XP - I have a black Highlite line that will not go away.
Although I've tried all of the obvious solutions - I am apparently missing
something. Can you tell me what it is - please?

Have you tried Format>Borders and Shading. It is probably a border that can
be removed via that dialog.

Hope this helps.

Ms. Barnhill was exactly right. I increased my color display from 16 to 256,
and the problem was fixed. Thank you very much. By the way, I have been to
Fairhope many times, and it is a beautiful place.

Please come to Fairhope now! With the Grand Hotel in Point Clear out of
commission (thanks, Katrina), our downtown is really hurting for tourist
trade!

I'm glad to hear you still have a downtown! I'm none to happy about Gulf
Shores taking a beating either. I sure hope you fared well personally. I'm
in for a day of Wilma myself. I absolutely will be back to Fairhope the
first chance I get. I believe my days of visiting New Orleans are over
though. Just by luck I was able to stay there a couple of nights 3 weeks
before she went under water. That's it for me and New Orleans.

I always love your artfair - in May?

Well anyway - best of luck to both of us through the next decade or so. :]
Also - even though your solution turned out to be quick and simple - I still
have no idea why and never would have figured that one out for myself. Thank
you so very much again.

The Arts & Crafts Festival is in March. We just had the Grand Festival of
Art by the Bay this weekend (the reason it's "Grand" is that it used to be
held at the Grand Hotel). Katrina was almost a nonevent for us in town (80+
feet above sea level and sheltered from the wind by dense construction), but
those with waterfront property took a beating from the storm surge, and
those in more exposed inland areas had more wind damage. Population has
increased somewhat now, with many new students from Louisiana and
Mississippi in our schools, and Katrina Relief is the primary charitable and
fundraising effort going on here, it seems.
