I am using the New Beta Office 2007 and everything I use seems to be hidden
under layers of Garbage. When I create a new document I want to see the
templates on F://wordtemplates I am not the slightest bit interested in the
installed "Equity Report" or worse the on-line tenancy easment or whatever (
I doubt many of you USA guys are but to us Brits its Junk)
I just want to see our Businesses Lettterheads and Memos etc, this seems a
general feature of Office 2007 - everything we use is now ten menus deep

As I understand it, things in this dialog box should change in the next update.

If you want to get straight to the "good old" New Document dialog box, you can
add this to your QAT from Word Options/Customization. I believe it's labelled
"New document or template".

Hi Cindy
Thanks for the answer BUt it is the page that pops up when you select new
that I want to change( "new document"). I want rid of the lefthand column or
better still it can list the template folders on our server and on the main
window some nice icons for our templates & maybe (just possibly) a minor
couple of references to the ones that come with Office or are online, which
really I'm never going to use. (most of our customers don't use templates at
all so why make such a display of them?)

Point is here I can see no reference to how I customise this list, and
whilst I have added "new" to the "QAT" (thanks for the idea)it would be
simpler to replace the useless big round button with a "QAT" or perhaps a
nice friendly FILE menu which has the commands I need.
Thanks
