how do I install the verticle ruler in the left margin in microsft

please advise me how to install verticle ruler in left margin of microsoft
office program
 
From the View menu, select Ruler is what I think that you do in versions
before 2007. In 2007, select the View tab of the ribbon and then check the
Ruler box.
