How Do I Install Screensavers?

I just installed XP on a friend's machine. (Clean fresh/install)

She wants her Win98 screensaver, so I copied the .scr file from Win98
and put it in XP's Windows\System32 folder with the rest to the .scr
files. It shows up on the list to select but when you preview the
screen is black and if you select it, either it never comes up or it's
black.

This was a standard Win98 screensaver. I tried a couple more with the
same result.

How do I add screensavers to XP and get them to display?

Hi Jim,

Some of the Win98 screensavers are not supported in WinXP. All you can do is
try them, if they don't work there is little you can do besides try a
different one.
