How do I install an f6 disk driver after the fact?

Hi All,

I have a "chicken and the egg problem".

I installed XP with my BIOS set to IDE. I should have
had it set to AHCI and used an f6 disk to install the
Intel ICH9_10 driver. Oooops. (Ah Poop!)

XP will boot fine with BIOS set to IDE. I have
copied the ICH9_10 driver to my c: drive. I also now
have it copied to a floppy (f6) disk.

Problem: with XP booted with BIOS set to IDE,
I can not figure out how to install the ICH9_10 driver.
There are no bang marks in my device manager.

With my BIOS set to AHCI, I get the Blue Screen of
Death when XP boots up.

Anyone know a way around this?

Many thanks,
-T

If xp is up & running then you don't need F6 to install drivers for ICH 9_10
controller, however, the ICH 9_10 driver is intel matrix mgr, which is only for
a ICH 9_10 R The R has RAID capability,w/o the R then intel says to use
native windows drivers. If you do have RAID/SATA controller, then forget F6
& simply download the matrix utility, run the chipset installation utility
first.Also,
if you run IDE & SATA/RAID hds, then you must first set the BIOS for the 2 to
run together (advanced chipset),also, read the owners manual......
