how do i insert text into a downloaded doc?

i received several documents that i downloaded. now i need to fill in the
spaces so to speak with my name etc. i could write this but with my MS, i
can't read it. this is hard enough.
i received the letters from yahoo.com and the downloads are sitting in word
2002 and i cannot find a way to type in the downloaded docs. any suggestions?
need asap. thanks
 
It sounds like they are scanned in as a picture. Have you tried contacting
the person who has the site where you got those forms? They will be able to
tell you what to do.
