You can add additional rows to a table by hitting the tab key at the end of
the last row (in the last cell... hit Tab). If you need to insert a Row
between existing rows, position your cursor in the row BELOW where you want
the new row to appear and click on TABLE --> INSERT --> ROW ABOVE.
Alternatively (and more easily), place the insertion point to the OUTSIDE
right of the row (immediately above where you want to insert a new row) and
press ENTER.
1. If you want to add a row below the current row, just tab out of the last
cell, and Word will create a new row.
2. If you want to add a row above a given row, select the row, right click,
and choose Insert Rows.
3. If you want to add a row below a given row (not the last):
(a) Select the row and go to Table | Insert | Rows Below; or
(b) Use the right arrow key to position the insertion point just to the
right of the last cell in the row and press Enter.

It was especially helpful in Word 97 and earlier, which didn't have the
choice of Above/Below for Insert Rows.

Brett,
To add to the other suggestions, select one row or if your wish several rows
and hit the button in the standard toolbar, this is the button where you
normally insert a table with (it will have changed shape when you selected a
row). The button will insert as much rows as you have selected.

On the one hand, I just live for tips like this. <vbg> They really make my
day. On the other hand, I cannot believe (and will not admit to) the number
of years I have been using Word and never knew about this.
