I"m trying to insert mp3 and wma files from window's media player into a
powerpoint presentation. I asked office manager and so looked on how to do
this on the internet and i can not find any information on how to do so. If
there is a way to do this that doesn't include buying another software,
please let me know.

Have you tried Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File? If you have and it
isn't working, then we need more information about what is happening.

Go to Start > Run and type "mplay32.exe" without the quotes. Click OK and the
MCI player will open. Open your MP3 file and click on the Play icon. Does it
play?

Then it should play in PowerPoint. Where have you stored the sound file? Is it
in My Documents and does it possibly have a very long path? The path is it's
full address, e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Intuit\Quicken\Inet\Common\Pnf\Plan\index.ini

is the path to index.ini on my system. PowerPoint has a problem with sound and
video files with a path greater than about 128 characters.
