How do I import data into an existing spreadsheet?

I am trying to use Excel to analyze data that I am collecting fro
another program. I get the data in a .DAT file which opens up just fin
into an XL spreadsheet. I have set up a spreadsheet with the formulas
need to analyze the data. How do I import the contents of newly create
.DAT files into the ‘master’ sheet that I have created with all m
formulas?

When replying, please keep in mind that I am very new to Excel.

Hi

One way would be to open your DAT file, as normal in Excel, and then
copy/paste the data into your master sheet.
