How do I hyperlink photos from the photo gallery template?

I am using FrontPage 2002 and have created a photo gallery using the template
provided by the program. I am now trying to hyperlink each thumbnail in the
gallery to a separate page featuring the full-size photo.

Unfortunately, the help file is telling me to right click the image and
select "hyperlink" from the shortcut menu...and when I try to do that, all
the photos in the gallery are highlighted and there is no "hyperlink" option
in either the shortcut menu or on the toolbar.

I know this is probably something really easy, but I am totally new to
FrontPage. Hope someone can help.

Yep..it's really easy, because it's automatic. You don't have to do any linking, FP does it automatically if you are using any of the photo galleries.

You only have to manually link if you are creating your own gallery from scratch.

Rob,

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. I had hoped that FP would create the
fullsize pages automatically, but - and I apologize for being really dense
here - I can't seem to figure out how it works. In "normal" view, clicking an
image highlights the whole gallery and nothing happens. In "preview" view,
clicking on the image doesn't do anything at all. Is it something I have to
specify in the Gallery Properties dialog box?

Thanks!

FP generates everything, when you're using the gallery(s) feature.
If you click on the inserted gallery the whole thing will turn black and then it should open the dialog box (sometimes it takes a while).

Resize & Optimize your full size pics BEFORE you IMPORT them into FP. Make them the size you want displayed in the big pix (I use 600px wide at the most). You may be having trouble because your images are too big. Use a third party image editor (photoshop, paintshop pro, adobe elements...whatever you like to work with.

You may want to look at IrFanview (its a freebie) and will do batch processing, renaming, resizing, optimizing all in one shot. BEFORE you bring them into FP.

After you've Imported them into FP, and have created a Web, and a Page to put your gallery on, you will Insert the Gallery on that page, then click on it to bring up the dialog and insert the images (the ones you've already Imported into FP).

That'll do it.
