how do I hide email addresses in dist. lists other than BCCing?

I have received emails with ;undisclosed-recipients; in the to field. How do
I do this? I am trying to send an email to a distribution list of mine
without everyones emails being published and without placing it in the bcc
field.
 
Use the BCC field.
That's what it's for and that's how everyone else hides recipients.
Not sure why you can't.
