I am trying to design some templates in Powerpoint and someone has clicked
the "don't show me this message again" box. Do I have to go in through the
diologue box or is there another way?

Check Tools, Options, the View tab.

If you don't find what you're after, let us know in your reply which version of
PowerPoint you're using and what was on the dialog box you're after. This is
something that's changed between versions.

I am operating in Office 2003 and the diolouge box I am after is the first
one which comes up when opening powerpoint. It has 3 selections 'Open a Blank
Presintation', 'Design a Template' and ' Open an Existing Presintation'. I
hope this helps you narrow the problem down and thankyou for your speedy
reply.

That seems to be a description of what you used to see in earlier versions of
PowerPoint. That dialog box isn't in PPT 2003 any longer.

But again, try this:

Choose Tools from the main menu bar.
On the tools menu, click Options
Click the View tab of the Options dialog box
Put a checkmark next to "Startup Task Pane"

In pre-taskpane versions of PPT, the option's labeled "Show startup dialog"
