How do I get the bulleted numbers to work in animation?

When I use the bulleted numbers and select the custom animate feature the
first number does not appear. How do I get this to work? I have several
bulleted numbered slides that need to be animated.

Do you mean that when you play the presentation...
1) Nothing happens and it seems like it is waiting for something before it
starts the animation? If so, try clicking the screen. the default setting
for entrance animations is "On Click", so it is waiting on you to tell it to
start.
or
2) The text appears, but the number doesn't? In this case, check to see if
the text for that bullet starts with a space and wraps to another line.
Remove the space and the number should show.
or
3) Something else entirely? In this case tell us more about what you are
doing and which version of PPT you are using. That will help us help you.
