How do I get rid of a second, empty CONTACTS entry in Outlook?

I've just re-installed OUTLOOK and my CONTACTS are apparently listed where
they always were. However, when I'm writing an e-mail, and choose the TO or
CC or BCC fields, I get two choices of CONTACTS. The first, automatically
chosen CONTACTS is empty. I can them scroll down to an indentically named
CONTACTS and click on it, and there are all my e-mail addresses. How can I
get rid of the first, empty CONTACTS, so that my genuine CONTACTS are visible
automatically as soon as I choose TO or CC or BCC. I seem to recall that this
happend to me a couple of years ago, but I don't remember how I solved the
problem then! Any hints or tips appreciated greatly.
