i'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup but i didn't
know who to turn to so hopefully there'll be someone in
here who can help me... i think i got one of these dialer
programs on my computer that try to dial porn sites or
something... i'm not connected to the phone line (cable
internet) so i'm not worried about anything but the thing
is i don't know where the program is located and how to
get rid of it... i suspect this because every now and
then the screen will turn black for a second and then go
back to normal as if this program is trying to start and
then it's not able to... or does anyone know what else it
could be? thank you so much!

.
All of these anti-spyware programs are a must have and
all are free.
Ad-aware and spybot will find the dialer and remove it.
Spywareblaster will prevent it from being installed in
the future.

Try using Ad-aware:

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

It can remove most diallers and other annoying programs. If this doesn't
work there are other programs that do a similar job to Ad-aware.
Spybot is one example:

Get a program called ADAWARE from Lavasoft. that will get rid of em. its
free and simple. i use it all the time.

I use adaware and it won't find the dialer, just some
cookies but not the dialer...
thanks
