how do I get rid of a bold dotted line?

A bold dotted line has appeared in a document. It seems to be associated
with numbering, but it is impossible to click on it in order to delete it.

Many thanks - you're right. I found an article by Suzanne Barnhill and Dave
Rado that pointed this out and solved the problem.
