How do I get Outlook in the bottom right hand corner of Windows?

This is probably such a basic thing, but I would like to get Outlook to
appear in the bottom right hand corner (is it called Quick Launch?) along
with MSN messenger, etc, so that it will I get email notification even when
the program is not loaded on the start bar.

I feel really stupid for asking this and will probably feel even more stupid
when I find out what the simple solution is. I know this can be done, but
can't figure out how. Can anyone help?

Do you mean the area with the clock (called the System Tray) or the area to
the right of the Start button (Quick Launch bar)?

When you start Outlook, it will appear on the right side--Notification Area.
Quick Launch is on the left if you selected to display the QL toolbar by
right clicking on the taskbar, select toolbars, Quick Launch. If OL is not
there, drag a shortcut for OL to it. PS This only applies to Outlook, not
Outlook Express--a totally diff program, although you can add OE to Quick
Launch bar, it will not appear on the right.

but only if you have outlook 2003 and have selected "minimze to systray" or
have applied the registry setting to Outlook 2002. AFAIK you cannot minimise
Outlook 97 or 2000 to the systray at all.

Outlook 2003 automatically puts an icon in the System Tray but you can have
it remove itself from the Task Bar when minimized by right clicking on the
icon in the tray and selecting the option to hide Outlook when minimized.

If you want to make sure Outlook starts when you login you'll need to add a
shortcut to it in your StartUp folder also
