How do I get out of safe mode in Outlook?

Outlook insists on loading in safe mode and can not get to load in normal
mode. Yesterday Outlook locked up and after re-booting it wanted to load in
safe mode which I did. There are no disabled items and have searched the
Event log for any Outlook errors and find nothing. There is an info event
that says Outlook loaded in safe mode. Have checked references in earlier
msgs here on this subject, but they have been of no help.

I tried renaming outcmd.dat to outcmd.old and problem remains. I have no
..pst files -- only an outlook.ost file. I think the Exchange files on the
server are in good shape for this account since I can load Outlook normally
for this account on another machine.

What is in the notification when you try to start Outlook?
What add-ins are you running? Tried disabling them already?

There has been no notification since Outlook went into safe mode. At that
time yesterday the msg said something like "Outlook previously closed
abnomally and should now load in safe mode." I accepted that and now when
loading from command line or from icon, it loads in safe mode by itself.

The only add-in is Microsoft's Groove Export toolbar and in safe mode I find
no way to remove or disable it.

Even after a system restart Outlook starts in Safe Mode?
What version of Outlook are we talking about anyway?

Puzzle solved. Before I got your last message, I had to reboot the system
for other maintenance and upon restart, Outlook 2003 is behaving normally.
Rebooting was the answer.
