How do I get free Office 2000 premium

I received some files in word and my system is asking me to install office
2000 premium, how do I read those files?

Do you have a version of Word already? Where did the files come from? Are
you sure they are Word documents and that Word is not merely looking for a
converter. If the files came by e-mail save them to the hard drive before
attempting to open them. Note that e-mail can corrupt Word documents, so if
that is the issue ask the sender to zip them before mailing.

Yes, I do have Word 2000 already and the word document came through email.
The funny thing is that I can open it on my work computer but not on my home
computer. I think the problem is with my home computer. It's asking me to
install Office 2000 Premium CD each time I try to open it. Is there a free
version out there somewhere?

Thanks for responding.

The only full version of Microsoft Office that is free is the trial version.

Long shot, but try holding down the Shift key as you open the document. It
may be that there is a macro in the document that is looking for some
component that you do not have installed on your home machine. Holding down
the shift key should prevent the macro from running.

If this works, you should immediately take a look at the macro security
level, particularly on your office machine.
