How do i get figures for my maths. i am pressing enter return.

How do i get my total answer to my maths sum, i have pressed enter and return
but dont get a total Thanks Marilyn
 
If you post what sum you are trying to do then I'm sure someone can help.
However, generally sums are done as follows

Assume A1 and A2 contain 2 numbers. Put a formula in A3 as follows

=(A1+A2) adds then together
=(A1*A2) Multiplies them.
