How do I get a jpg to fit inside a cell in Word..

I am trying to put four pictures on a page with text below it explaining what
the picture is. Generally one to two lines at most. I have to keep
adjusting the picture size everytime I drag a picture to the document. Is
there a way of making the picture automatically adjust? I was thinking of
putting in a table with a cell for the picture and a cell below for the text.
What would you suggest.

Fix the width (only) of the table cell before you insert the picture and the
picture will adapt to that width.
