How do I get a hyperlink in a protected Word form?

I have a table within a word 2003 form that has 20+ different hyperlinks
throughout. The end column is tick boxes that the user would use one the task
is complete (there are probably 50 tick boxes).
Once I lock the form, the hyperlinks no longer work...

I have tried to follow the instructions on "Using hyperlinks in protected
forms several people posted with no success. The solution presented to enter
a break at the beginning and end of each hyperlink seems way to complicated.
Are there any other options?
